City and Event Offers / Bamberg

Bamberg

The 1,000-year-old bishopric and imperial city was built on seven hills in the heart of Franconia’s lovely countryside. In addition to outstanding monuments like the Cathedral, the Old Town Hall, the New Residence Palace and the former Abbey of St. Michael, one of the most predominant features is the winding Regnitz river with its many bridges, bestowing a romantic atmosphere on the entire city. In Bamberg, Germany’s biggest intact Old Town fascinates with a wealth of art, culture, antiquities and culinary delights – especially the famous and popular Bamberg beer! The city was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1993 and in 2007, Bamberg will celebrate the millennium of its diocese.
Population: 70,000, guest beds: 2,572.
