Bad Salzuflen

Bad Salzuflen, one of Germany's most renowned health resorts, is situated right in the middle of Germany in the beautiful hilly countryside of the Teutoburg Forest.

Its wonderful historical old town fascinates with gorgeous patrician and half-timbered houses from renaissance times. The skillful graven gables tell us of richness of past days, when salt has been won in Bad Salzuflen.

The wide-ranging spa garden (120 hectares) is one of the largest of its kind in Germany. Established in the end of the nineteenth century the garden extends along the river Salze with a bloom-paradise of unforgettable beautiful colours, with wide meadows and old tree population. Near by the big lake the park slightly fades to the landscape garden and disembogues in the city forest with gorgeous bicycle and hiking trails.

Bad Salzuflen has an extraordinary richness of thermal brine wellsprings which offer air and water just like on the waterfront. The first thermal baths were offered in 1818. Nowadays Bad Salzuflen offers a diversity of health and wellness packages and swimming in thermal brine is a popular leisure activity in the "VitaSol" health thermae. A walk along the impressive "Gradierwerke", in former days part of the Salzuflen salinas, is an unforgettable experience and as healthy and refreshing as on the coast. Up to 300.000 litres of brine daily trickle over the blackthorn walls, nebulise thereby and compose an ocean-like climate.

Relax and enjoy!
